Birmingham Pub Crawl
A visit to some of Birmingham's unique pubs.
Our next midweek pub crawl will be on Thursday 16th February and will see us visit new developments in the pubs of Birmingham city centre. Our first port of call will be the Eagle and Tun in Digbeth near the Woodman. A Victorian pub, reopened in 2015 we can expect 5 beers on offer. From here we shall pop round the the Anchor in Digbeth. A constant in the Good Beer Guide the pub is now under new management and is worthy of revisiting. A recent visit by me saw 4 beers now on offer in superb quality. A bit of a trek next to the new site of the Two Towers Brewery tap at the Gunmakers Arms in Bath Street not far from the Roman Catholic Cathedral From here we shall wander up to Tilt in The City Arcade. It is uncertain what we will find here as they are heavily into craft beers. It it proves to be keg only we shall move on the the Pure Bar and Kitchen in Waterloo Street. A Purity Brewery pub opened a couple of years ago this is well worth visiting particularly for the guest beers which are well kept even though the seating is a little uncomfortable. If time permits we may well try a beer or two in either The Victoria, Bacchus Bar, Botanist or Cherry Reds. There will be plenty of places to eat during the course of the afternoons perambulation.
Meet at Moor Street Station - (note change of location) at 12 noon for the short walk to the Eagle and Tun. Please let me know if you are coming along so I can look out for you. E mail address is: ku.oc.oohay@2591nosyd_evets .
Advance notice: Next crawl will be Beeton on the Nottingham rail line in May. Three GBG pubs with 34 beers between them - a must!
