Stourbridge and Lye
Our next midweek crawl on Wednesday 11th July takes in the delights of Stourbridge and Lye. Meet at Stourbridge Junction at 1.10pm following the arrival of the trains from Solihull and Shirley where we shall jump on the town train to commence our tour in Stourbridge.
First port of call is the Red House Boutique. A GBG it has a large range of beers, some from Nationals and well known regionals but itcan always turn up a surprise brew.
Barbridge, another GBG entry is a quirky micro with 4 beers on handpump.
The Waggon and Horses, another GBG 2018 pub, although a short walk from the town centre is well worth a visit. Enville and Holden's are the mainstay here but 3 guests vary the selection.
A bite to eat will then be taken at the Wetherspoons near the station and then we shall get the number 9 bus to Lye.
Here we shall first call on the Shovel, a pub which has vastly improved of late to gain a place in the 2018 GBG. Some beers are well known but with 7 guests something to tickle everyone's palettes.
Last port of call will be Sadlers Brewhouse and Bar.Tap to Sadlers Brewery expect 6 beers from their stable.
If time permits a swift one in the Windsor Castle?
